Safeguarding

Wraxall C of E VA Primary school, in partnership with all its staff, volunteers and members of the wider school community, is committed to safeguarding and promoting the  welfare  of children and young persons.

Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. School staff are particularly important as they are in a position to identify concerns early, provide help for children and  to prevent concerns from escalating. Schools and their staff form part of the wider safeguarding system for children. This system is described in statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2018.

Wraxall school will work with social care, the police, health services and other services  where necessary to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.

Should you have any concerns relating to the safety and welfare of a child at the school you should immediately contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead,  Miss Amy Townsend (Head Teacher) or in her absence  the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mrs Tamsin Hayward (Deputy Head Teacher).

Similarly, should you have any  Safeguarding concerns  relating to the behaviour of a member of staff, you should immediately contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead  as above.  If the allegation concerns the Headteacher, you should contact the Chair of Governors, Mr Ben O'Connor, or the Designated Safeguarding Governor Miss Becky Cawsey.

If you feel that your concerns have not been dealt with appropriately by the School or Chair of Governors, you should contact: Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), Tel 01275 888624.
