Pine Class

Year 3 & Year 4

Our class teacher is Mr Leech.

Mrs Adamson works in our classroom as a member of support staff.

In our classroom, we strive for a calm but enthusiastic learning environment. We aim for children to be confident and independent learners who always work as hard as they can in all that they do. We have a growth mindset and welcome mistakes in the understanding that when we learn from them, they make us better!

Visit this page to find out what the children have been up to throughout each term. You can also find out what the children will be learning in Term 1 by clicking on the curriculum overview below.

Term 1

This term, the children have settled into their new year groups really well! They have all been getting to grips with the rules and routines we have in Pine Class. They have been so amazing that they even earned a class treat by getting 10 class points. The children voted for the very fun option of getting to build dens and watch a film in their pyjamas - they all had a wonderful time and absolutely loved it.

History

We have been learning about the Romans this term in history lessons and the children are extremely enthusiastic and really keen to learn more and more! So that we can pair this learning with a brilliant, unforgettable experience, next term we are going to visit a Roman fortress and baths! This will be an amazing opportunity for the children to experience first hand what Roman Britain may have been like.

PE

All of the children in Pine Class have been amazing at dodgeball in PE this term - they all showed fantastic attitudes, brilliant sportsmanship, and great technique! They also all did themselves proud in the end-of-term dodgeball house competition with great efforts!

Art

Mrs Watts has taught the children some really exciting art this term and the they have all impressed with their artistic skills! A whole-class mosaic was made which everyone contributed to. The children took their artistic skills to the street! They worked together and used chalks to create some 'mosaic style' streetart on the playground.

Term 2

Term 2 has been a busy and rewarding term! Everyone in Pine Class has worked extremely hard and their hard work has paid off because they have created amazing work and made lots of progress. By now, the year 3s are definitely starting to understand what it takes to meet the expectations in Pine Class. We also had a lot of fun, especially in the build up to Christmas with treats, a class party and the Christmas house competition.

Science

Each child in the class showed a lot of eagerness and curiosity in our science lessons this term which was all about electricity. They enjoyed exploring the topic using the circuit equipment and some of the children even got to put on the lab coat as a reward for being 'Scientist of the Day'! Their scientific questioning as really impressed me and has led to them having a great understanding of electricity.

Star Attitude Awards

Every other term in Pine Class, a handful of children win 'Star Attitude Awards' for consistently displaying an outstanding attitude in school. The winners of this get to take home and keep a little trophy. This is the highest reward you can receive in Pine Class. So, a massive well done to the four who were awarded the Star Attitude Awards this term.
