Your Child’s New School…

Picture a school at the heart of the community, surrounded by nature and where the children can’t wait to arrive in the morning because they know that they will experience the excitement and joy of learning.

Picture a school where the children are inspired to aim high and believe that their dreams are achievable because they will have developed the skills and knowledge needed. They have the confidence to challenge themselves because they know that their mistakes will only make them stronger. They will flourish and become all that they aspire to be.

Picture a school where the children are nurtured to be the best that they can be. They know that school is a safe and inclusive place because they have seen that all are welcomed and cared for. They will show compassion in all that they do and will make society a kinder place for all.

Picture a school where the children are celebrated for being unique individuals who together form a strong and united team. They become active and creative citizens who will achieve amazing things throughout their lives and develop a better future for all.

School Tours and Visits

We take a personal approach at Wraxall CofE Primary School. We aim to provide tailored tours to prospective parents so that while you are able to see all parts of the school, time is taken to explore the aspects of school life that are of particular importance to you as a parent/carer. We lead both small group and individual visits at the school and these are arranged directly with you at a convenient time for both you and the school. We don’t believe in large group tours and open days, but encourage you to see our amazing school on a normal day and observe the excellent provision that we offer every day and throughout the year rather than a few select days.

If you would like to visit the school please contact us to arrange a suitable date and time.  You can either call 01275 854216 or email office@wraxallprimary.co.uk

Your child’s first days in school

From the moment you know that your child has a place at Wraxall CofE Primary School we want to work with you to make sure that your child has a very successful start to their school life. Our reception class provides excellent and inclusive provision for all children in an environment that engages them in learning and supports them pastorally. There is a carefully planned transition process that supports children as they settle into school and enables them to develop their independence and confidence.

Once your child has received a place at Wraxall we will be in contact with a range of opportunities for you to visit and find out more about your child’s school. These opportunities include class visits and storytelling time for the children and an information evening for parents/carers. We will also have parents meeting times specifically for you to share information with your child’s class teacher about your child, their learning and any particular needs they may have. Please contact us directly and in advance if your child has a medical, SEN or other need that we need to be aware of to ensure that we are in the best place to support them when they join us.

Notification of Variation due to Covid-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, churches and other religious buildings have been closed by law for public worship and for other uses. Since Wraxall School’s oversubscription criteria include church attendance, (at a specified frequency and period of time) parents and their children are unable to meet this criterion under the terms of our current admissions arrangements.

Therefore the following variation is being proposed to the admission arrangements for Wraxall School:

To the current oversubscription criteria relating to church attendance the proposed variation for admissions in September 2021, Year R as given below:

“4.Children who themselves, or whose parent(s) attend All Saints Church, Wraxall or St Bartholomew’s Church, Failand on at least one day per month and have attended for the previous twelve consecutive months prior to application.”

add the following requested variation:

“ In the event that during the period specified for attendance at worship the church has been closed for public worship and has not provided alternative premises for that worship, the requirements of these [admissions] arrangements in relation to attendance will only apply to the period when the church or alternative premises have been available for public worship”.
